Madonna University, www.madonna.edu, a Catholic, Franciscan, liberal arts university in Michigan between Detroit and Ann Arbor, is accepting applications for a Coordinator of Directed Teaching and Assistant/Associate Professor of Education, position to begin August 2012.? Candidates must have an earned doctorate in education; preparation or experience in teacher effectiveness and supervision; potential for leadership in the field component of teacher education; commitment to multicultural education and the teaching of children with special needs; and evidence of professional commitment and teaching excellence.

Requirements:

1.???????? An earned doctorate in education or related field.

2.???????? The capacity for, or a record of, research and scholarship

3.???????? Teaching experience in K-12 schools, including a valid teaching certificate.

4.???????? Teaching experience in higher education.

5.???????? Experience in supervising field experiences.

6.???????? Expertise in and commitment to multicultural education and diverse populations.

7.???????? The capacity for, or a record of, collaborative & collegial professional development

Responsibilities include:

1.???????? Coordination and supervision of directed teaching students.

2.???????? Teaching courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level in the teacher education program, (e.g. educational psychology, curriculum and instruction, literacy education, educational leadership, educational technology, early childhood, or educational foundations.)

3.???????? Administration/supervision of field experiences with an emphasis on experiences in multicultural settings.

4.???????? Academic advising of undergraduate students.

5.???????? Supervision of data collection of student teaching learning outcomes projects.

6.???????? Participation in appropriate research activities.

7.???????? Serve on college and university committees.
